2027 Envoy Benefits: New Choices, New Costs, and Changes Members Should Review
Envoy plans new 2027 medical, dental and vision choices, coverage tiers and costs, with a new default enrollment process. Annual enrollment is November 9–20.
Envoy plans to move medical, dental, and vision coverage to Aon Benefit Experience for 2027. Members will choose a coverage level and an insurance carrier, with prices based on their home address. Carrier networks, prescription programs, and prices may differ.
Annual enrollment is scheduled for November 9–20, 2026. Coverage begins January 1, 2027.
The figures below come from the September 29, 2026 presentation. 2027 premiums reflect the low-cost carrier examples shown, rather than a guaranteed price for every member. The presentation also states that the medical designs shown are subject to change. Check your personalized enrollment options before making a selection.
Your Current Coverage Will Not Automatically Carry Forward
Previously, employees who made no election generally kept their prior-year coverage, except for flexible spending accounts, which required an annual election.
For 2027, employees and dependents enrolled in 2026 who make no election will default to:
- Medical: the lowest-cost Bronze Plus plan.
- Dental and vision: the lowest-cost Bronze plan.
Employees who waived coverage in 2026 will remain waived.
Review your options even if you want coverage similar to what you have today. A default plan may have a different carrier, provider network, or level of coverage.
Coverage Categories Are Changing
The current categories are employee only, employee plus one, and employee plus two or more.
For 2027, the categories become:
- Employee only.
- Employee plus spouse.
- Employee plus child or children.
- Employee plus family.
Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are exceptions to this new four-category structure.
This change can affect costs significantly. For example, an employee covering two children currently falls under “employee plus two or more.” In 2027, that employee can use the “employee plus child(ren)” category instead of the family category.
Medical: How the New Choices Compare
The presentation compares the current PPO 2500, PPO 1700, and PPO 750 plans with the new Bronze Plus, Silver, and Gold options. These are comparisons, not identical replacement plans.
Deductibles below are shown as individual/family amounts. Benefits shown are in-network.
| Current choice → new choice | Deductible change | Member coinsurance change | Main difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| PPO 2500 → Bronze Plus | $2,500/$5,000 → unchanged | 20% → 25% | Same deductible, higher percentage paid for covered services, but a lower listed out-of-pocket maximum |
| PPO 1700 → Silver | $1,700/$3,400 → $1,750/$3,500 | 20% → 25% | Slightly higher deductible and higher percentage paid for covered services |
| PPO 750 → Gold | $750/$1,500 → $800/$1,600 | Remains 20% | Slightly higher deductible, lower listed out-of-pocket maximum, and more fixed copays |
The new annual in-network out-of-pocket limits, including prescriptions, are:
| 2027 plan | Individual limit | Family limit |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze Plus | $4,500 | $9,000 |
| Silver | $4,250 | $8,500 |
| Gold | $3,600 | $7,200 |
These limits apply to covered costs under the plan; premiums are separate.
Bronze Plus and Silver are listed as HSA-eligible plans. Both show 25% cost sharing for office visits, emergency care, urgent care, and prescriptions, subject to plan terms.
Gold shows a $25 primary-care copay, $40 specialist copay, and $40 urgent-care copay. Emergency-room care is listed at a $150 copay plus 20%. Retail prescription copays are $10/$40/$60 for generic, preferred brand, and nonpreferred brand drugs.
A separate Gold II option for California only is also shown. It has no deductible, 30% coinsurance, and a $5,400 individual/$10,800 family out-of-pocket maximum. Its premiums are not included in the presentation’s contribution tables.

Dental: Lower Prices Can Mean Less Coverage
The current PPO Core and PPO Plus options are compared with Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
| Dental feature | Current Core | Current Plus | 2027 Bronze | 2027 Silver | 2027 Gold |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Annual benefit maximum per person, excluding orthodontia | $1,500 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,500 |
| Member share for major restorative services | 50% | 50% | Not covered | 40% | 20% |
| Orthodontia | Children | Children and adults | Not covered | Children | Children and adults |
Bronze dental does not cover major restorative services or orthodontia. Members moving from either current plan should consider that loss of coverage before choosing it based on price.
