Father’s Day Message Honoring Fathers and Families

June 21, 2026 · 4:30 AM

President Adam Fernandez recognized fathers, father figures, and mentors while reflecting on family, sacrifice, and the shared values of the labor movement.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who help shape the next generation.

Being a father is one of life's greatest responsibilities and greatest blessings. It means leading by example, making sacrifices when no one is watching, and working tirelessly to provide opportunities for your family. It means teaching values like integrity, respect, hard work, and perseverance—lessons that last a lifetime.

As union members, many of us understand this responsibility all too well. We work long hours, miss holidays, birthdays, and family events, and make countless sacrifices to ensure our loved ones have a better future. Every shift worked, every challenge overcome, and every contract fought for is done with our families in mind.

The labor movement was built on the idea that every worker deserves the ability to provide for their family with dignity. As fathers, we carry that same mission every day. We fight not only for ourselves, but for our children and for the generations that will follow us.

Today, take time to celebrate the fathers who have guided us, supported us, and shown us what strength, dedication, and love truly look like. Whether you're spending the day with family, remembering a father who has passed, or being celebrated by your children, know that the impact you make reaches far beyond today.

From my family to yours, Happy Father's Day. Thank you for all that you do both at home and on the job. Your hard work, sacrifice, and love do not go unnoticed.
