Five New Union Stewards Complete Training
TWU Local 571 welcomed five new Union Stewards after completing steward training focused on representation, the CBA, Local Bylaws, and leadership development.
Today we proudly welcomed five new Union Stewards to TWU Local 571:
- Alejandro Ruvalcaba
- Timothy Johnson
- Schadrac Steide
- Ronald Wolak
- Oni Chu
These members completed steward training covering our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Local Bylaws, TWU Constitution, representation responsibilities, and real-world situational training. The knowledge and skills gained today will help ensure our members receive strong, effective, and informed representation on the shop floor.
A special thank you to Vice President Mark Szumylo and Chief of Station Rafael Melon for dedicating their time and expertise to conduct today's training. Investing in our stewards is investing in the future of our Local.
Strong unions are built through education, leadership development, and member involvement. By training the next generation of union leaders, we are strengthening our ability to protect our contract, defend workers' rights, and advocate for a better workplace for all.
We look forward to seeing this group grow into strong representatives who will serve our membership with integrity, discipline, professionalism, and solidarity.
TWU Local 571 remains committed to modernizing our Local, developing our members, and building a stronger union for today and future generations.
An educated steward is a stronger advocate. A stronger advocate builds a stronger union. Together, we move forward in solidarity.
