Independence Day Update on CS Restrictions, Attendance, and Safety

July 4, 2026 Β· 4:13 PM

The Executive Board shared updates on CS restrictions, attendance enforcement, the INFOR transition, safety reminders, and upcoming union activities while recognizing Independence Day.

Good afternoon, Brothers and Sisters,

Happy 4th of July and Happy 250th Birthday, America! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today we celebrate the freedoms and opportunities that define our nation. As union members, we also recognize that many of the workplace rights we enjoy today were earned through the sacrifices of those who stood together before us. Solidarity, unity, and looking out for one another remain as important today as ever.

Updates

  • CS Restrictions: We continue meeting weekly with upper management to push for the removal of CS restrictions. However, high point totals, incomplete required lessons, and continued abuse of the CSK policy make those discussions more difficult. We will continue fighting for a fair solution.

  • Attendance: The company has significantly increased attendance enforcement systemwide, and we lost 12 members last week alone. If you receive an attendance infraction, don't wait. Contact a union representative immediately. Programs such as FMLA, LOA, and EAP may be able to help.

  • Trade Board: We're still awaiting an update on the Roster App trade board following the postponement of the INFOR launch until August 20. Until then, continue using the online CS form for dates after July 17. If Scheduling is not processing your trade correctly, let us know.

  • Safety: Do not tamper with, save, or disable company equipment. Management is actively enforcing this policy. Also, seat belts must be worn at all times while operating any ramp vehicle, including electric tugs.

Thank you to everyone who worked through this week's extreme heat. We appreciate your hard work and dedication, and we're glad we could provide Gatorade to help keep everyone hydrated. Your union will continue looking for ways to support our membership.

This week we'll be welcoming our newest members, holding our monthly Executive Board meeting to address grievances and other local business, and honoring the life of TWU Local 1460 President Amy Griffin. Our thoughts and prayers remain with her family, friends, and union family.

Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day with your families.
