Summer Bid Planning Meeting and Important Bid Deadlines
Adam Fernandez shares an update on summer bid planning, proposed staffing changes, and key deadlines for crew chief and status change requests.
Good evening brothers and sisters,
Today we had our first meeting with the company regarding the structure for the summer bid. We discussed CC structure, a midnight increase, and possible solutions to help minimize mandatory overtime. I now have the information needed to begin constructing a proposal that addresses the needs and concerns of the membership.
Tentative Timeline
- May 31 – Bid posted
- June 8 – Bidding begins
- June 16 – Bidding completed
- June 27 – First day of the summer bid
The company will upload the bid structure before bidding begins to help minimize delays once bidding is completed. The union will also have additional support available during the bid process to ensure things run smoothly and representation is fully present.
Important Deadlines
- Crew Chief self-demotion requests – May 31
- Crew Chief applications – May 30
- FT/PT and PT/FT requests – May 31
