Summer Bid Updates, Member Appreciation Day, and Negotiation Preparations

June 5, 2026 · 7:54 PM

Adam Fernandez shares updates on summer bidding, training compliance, Member Appreciation Day events, mandatory overtime concerns, and upcoming negotiation meetings.

Good evening, brothers and sisters,

A few quick updates:

  • Summer bid times for all classifications have been posted. Due to an error from headquarters involving systemwide postings, Crew Chiefs will bid on the final day. We will have additional union personnel in the bid room to assist. Please verify you are signing the correct bid line before submitting, as no changes can be made afterward. We will also be collecting shirt sizes for a future giveaway.

  • Please continue monitoring your required lessons. Several advisories have already been issued for non-compliance with the Harassment Prevention Lesson. If you experience any issues completing a lesson, contact us immediately so we can work with the Compliance Manager to resolve it.

  • Tomorrow is Member Appreciation Day! For those attending Six Flags, we will be at the main entrance from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and at the pavilion beginning at 3:00 p.m. For members unable to attend, we will be serving Popeyes in the deice break room from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone.

  • Mandatory overtime remains a priority issue. We continue to meet with upper management and push solutions to address the ongoing challenges created by the current spring bid structure. We will keep monitoring daily mandatory assignments and advocating for improvements.

  • Vice President Julius Cajigas and I will be in Miami Monday and Tuesday for the final negotiation preparation meeting. We will be finalizing our proposal package to present to the company during formal negotiations on July 16-17 in DFW.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see many of you tomorrow.
