Multicultural Diversity Celebration Highlights Unity and Inclusion

June 19, 2026 · 9:15 PM

Local 571 thanked members for participating in the Multicultural Diversity Celebration and reflected on the importance of inclusion, respect, and solidarity.

Good evening, Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the Executive Board, the Cultural Diversity Committee, and the Events Committee, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our Multicultural Diversity Celebration.

It was truly inspiring to see our members come together to share food, traditions, cultures, and experiences in an atmosphere of unity and respect. Events like these remind us that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Each culture, background, and life experience represented within our Local contributes to who we are as a union family.

The Cultural Diversity Committee was created with a simple but important purpose: to ensure that every member feels seen, valued, respected, and celebrated. For many years, events like this were not part of our Local's tradition, but as we continue to modernize and grow, we are committed to creating opportunities that recognize and embrace the rich diversity of our membership.

Inclusion is more than just a word—it is a commitment to understanding one another, learning from one another, and building stronger relationships across all backgrounds. When we celebrate our differences, we strengthen our solidarity. When we embrace diversity, we build a more united Local.

We welcome your ideas, suggestions, and constructive feedback as we continue to develop programs and events that represent all of our members. At the same time, I encourage everyone to remember the importance of respecting one another's cultures, traditions, and perspectives. What makes our Local special is that we can come together, celebrate our uniqueness, and still stand united as one workforce and one union.

No matter where we come from, we are all Brothers and Sisters.

One Local. One Family. One Union.
