Union Presses Company for Answers on INFOR Issues
Union update on ongoing INFOR issues affecting vacations, overtime, dependability, shift trades, the billboard, and daily operations.
Good late evening, brothers and sisters,
This has been an extremely challenging and frustrating week for our membership. We understand the frustration because we are experiencing it right alongside you. We have been left with far too many questions, too little communication, and not nearly enough clarification from the company regarding the rollout of INFOR.
Tonight, I finally received another update from the company.
INFOR is still working on several major issues, including:
- Vacation time not properly displaying
- Point/dependability information
- Shift trades between classifications
- The billboard
- Other system-related issues affecting daily operations
I have been assured that vacation time that may not currently be showing on your schedule will still be paid correctly. We will continue to monitor this closely because we understand that members should not have to worry about whether their earned vacation time will be recognized.
Overtime
For those asking why mandatory overtime and regular overtime are currently showing as AST, there is currently no specific overtime code in INFOR. We have been told that although it displays as AST on the employee side, management's payroll system identifies those hours as overtime.
I completely understand why this is frustrating. Everyone wants to know that every hour they work is being recorded and paid correctly. The Union will continue to push for clarification and accountability on this issue.
Crew Chief / CCQ Shift Trades
For our Crew Chiefs and CCQs who are currently unable to send shifts to each other through INFOR, fill out the online form and Scheduling is supposed to process the trade.
I want to make this extremely clear:
If Scheduling refuses to process your trade, notify a Union representative immediately.
We have been told that Scheduling has been briefed on what is necessary to process these trades. There should not be members being turned away or told they simply cannot process a trade when the company has already provided a procedure for doing so.
At this time, they are processing the 30-minute overlap, which is the maximum being allowed while the company continues working through the system issues and attempts to restore the other local shift-trade agreements that we previously had available through the Roster app.
Your Union Is Not Sitting Back
I want everyone to understand that your Executive Board is not sitting back and waiting for INFOR to fix itself.
We are constantly pressing the company for answers.
We have even offered to have TWU assist with processing trade paperwork and anything else we can reasonably do to help move this process forward and reduce the stress being placed on our membership.
We are fighting to get answers. We are pushing management. We are raising your concerns. And we will continue doing so until these issues are addressed.
But let's also be honest about what this rollout has done to our membership.
People are frustrated. People are confused. People are worried about their schedules, their overtime, their vacation, their points, their trades, and their ability to properly navigate a system that was supposed to make things easier, not create additional problems.
Our members should not have to spend their days trying to figure out whether the system is going to recognize their time, their schedule, or their contractual rights.
And we should not have to chase down answers every day because communication from the company is inadequate.
We have also been informed that we are not the only station experiencing serious issues with INFOR. That does not make what our members are experiencing acceptable.
Tomorrow, I will be sending a formal email outlining the concerns we are hearing from our membership to local upper management and headquarters officials. We will be emphasizing the need for these issues to be addressed immediately, along with the need for much better daily communication and clarification to the workforce.
Our members deserve answers. Our members deserve communication. And our members deserve a system that actually works.
Until then, please continue sending us your concerns, questions, screenshots, and problems you are experiencing with INFOR. We will continue doing everything within our ability to get answers and hold the company accountable.
We may not have every answer tonight, but we will continue demanding them.
The frustration across this membership is real, and your Union hears you.
