Weekly Update on Heat Safety, INFOR Transition, Workplace Safety, and Contract Negotiations

July 12, 2026 · 6:07 PM

Leadership shared updates on extreme heat support, the INFOR transition, workplace safety, representative training, and the start of formal contract negotiations.

Good evening, Brothers and Sisters,

I wanted to provide a few important updates for the coming week.

Hydration & Heat Safety

As announced earlier today, TWU Local 571 will begin distributing zero-sugar Gatorade and Propel hydration packets throughout the week while supplies last.

I had several conversations with the company today, and they will be providing additional water throughout the operation. The Union will also have representatives monitoring work areas to ensure water and hydration supplies are being distributed in a timely manner. If the Union needs to step in to assist with distribution, we absolutely will.

With the extreme temperatures expected this week, your health and safety come first. If your break room is not cooling properly due to an air conditioning issue or any other problem, please notify any Union representative immediately. We understand the conditions you are working in, and we will continue holding the company accountable to provide a safe working environment.

Roster App / INFOR Update

Your schedules have now been updated in the Roster App through August 14. The current plan is for INFOR to launch on August 15.

We will be closely monitoring this transition. Other stations have experienced issues during the first phase of implementation, and we intend to stay on top of any problems that may affect our members.

The Roster App trade board will not be reactivated. The company has made several requests to Roster App to turn it back on, but those requests have been denied since the system is being phased out.

At this time, the proper process to trade shifts is by completing the online CS form or by working directly with Scheduling. Members may also continue trading shifts directly with one another. If you encounter any issues during this transition, please don't hesitate to contact your Union representatives.

Safety

This past weekend we experienced several serious safety incidents that resulted in injuries to our Brothers and Sisters and damage to company aircraft.

There is no shortcut worth risking your health, your career, or someone else's safety. Safety must remain our number one priority every single day.

Please continue following all established procedures and ensure you remain compliant with required safety policies, including:

  • Wearing your seat belt.
  • Using hearing protection.
  • Utilizing safety stops and all required PPE.

The company is placing a strong emphasis on safety compliance right now. If hearing protection or any required PPE is unavailable in your work area, notify the Union immediately so we can hold the company accountable for providing the equipment you need.

Our goal is simple: Every member goes home safely after every shift.

The TWU Local 571 Safety Team will be out on the ramp tomorrow. Please report any unsafe equipment, unsafe working conditions, or unsafe procedures immediately so we can address them before someone gets hurt.

A Busy Week for Your Union

This week will be an important one for your Union.

On Tuesday, our Chief Stewards and members of the Executive Board will travel to DFW to attend additional training with TWU Local 575. Investing in training strengthens our leadership and ensures your representatives are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to better serve every member of this Local.

On Thursday, members of the Executive Board will be visiting break rooms across both the AM and PM shifts to hear your concerns, answer questions, and continue maintaining open communication with the membership.

Most importantly, Vice President Julius and I will be in DFW on July 16 and 17 as we begin formal contract negotiations with Envoy.

This is why you elected this leadership.

You elected a team that promised to fight, to be visible, to be transparent, and to put the membership first. We do not take that responsibility lightly.

Every concern you've shared over the past several months—staffing, mandatory overtime, scheduling, wages, benefits, working conditions, safety, attendance policies, respect in the workplace, and quality of life—has helped shape our preparation for these negotiations.

We are walking into those meetings with one objective: to fight for the strongest contract possible for every member of TWU Local 571.

Negotiations are rarely quick or easy. They are often long, difficult, and require determination, patience, and unity. There will be challenges along the way, but I can promise you this:

This leadership will leave everything on the table.

We will work tirelessly, challenge the company when necessary, and fight for a contract that reflects the value, professionalism, and dedication of the men and women who keep this operation moving every single day.

When we return from each negotiating session, we will continue communicating with the membership and share as much information as we are able while respecting the bargaining process. Your voices will continue to guide us throughout these negotiations because this contract belongs to every member—not just the negotiating committee.

Together, united as one Local, we are stronger than we have ever been.

Thank you for your continued support, your professionalism, and your solidarity.

Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Look out for one another.

Together, we fight. Together, we stand. Together, we win.
